Cheap PS3 Games.Console.80GB.jpgAs this Summer’s E3 conference in the states gains momentum, and after Sony came under heavy criticism for the state of quality games actually available on their flagship games console. They have rallied somewhat with an announcement that might well bury the PS3 lite rumours once and for all. It has been confirmed that August 27th will see the release of an 80GB PS3. Officially retiring the 40GB version of the console in Europe. It seems thats all we get though. The price point will be the same as the 40GB, so roughly £299, but it will still not be backwardly compatible with PS2 games and it would seem wont include any more advanced architecture, but hey its 80GB not 40GB so its better than nothing.

Update: The Console will be release on August 22nd and will include the DualShock 3 Controller. You can buy it now for only £289.97 from Tesco or check out other 80gb ps3 bundles here.
