PSN Store gets a facelift

15 April 2008 No Comment

Playstation 3.Store.jpg Gamers woke up this morning to find the Playstation store has had a facelift. After updating to the new Firmware 2.30 (yes another new firmware update) the PSN store now looks like the image above and by all accounts its slick and easy to use although there are reports of downloads from the store being a little slow – still something for Sony to work on I suppose.

Included in this revamp is a new page layout and interface for easier navigation, permitting users to move between pages faster by pressing the X and circle buttons. You can now also view your PLAYSTATION Network account avatar on the pages of PLAYSTATION Store (PS3) and the content status display page has been given icons to indicate the status of each item, showing you what has been purchased and what is currently in your checkout cart. This revamp will not affect PLAYSTATION Network accounts or the virtual wallet system, so you can take advantage of all these treats and trimmings without needing to change a thing.

System software update version 2.30 also allows Blu-ray Disc playback to support DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio output – so not only are you getting the best from the Store, but also superb enhancements to your movies as well.
